Hi UbonJoe - I have to apply for a new Non-O visa for supporting my 2 kids (they have Thai /Eng nationality) at Savannakhet.

Since my wife died my wife died some years ago I have had a string of one-year Non-O visas from my local immigration office in Nontaburi, but this time somehow I managed to screw things up by overstaying and so have to apply for a new visa outside of Thailand. I have 400K in the bank and most of the documents needed such as marriage,  death and birth certificates, letter from bank and schools, photos in the house and outside schools. I have two questions:

Regarding TM 30 for house owner/master - my children, aged 16 and 17, are the only living relatives of my deceased wife and currently, the house is still in her name (I was told by a lawyer to wait until my kids reached legal age and then transfer ownership - but that's another story). At last year's application, when they first started this TM30  requirement, the immigration officer allowed my son to be the housemaster even though he was only 16 at the time. So, my first question is, what can I expect at Savannakhet? Will they accept a housemaster below the legal age and what should I do if they don't?

Second question is, is it really necessary to take my kids with me to Savannakhet for the application? (or do the previous Non-O visas in my passport provide sufficient evidence that I have kids)

Many thanks in advance

You can get a single entry non-o visa in Vientiane or Savannakhet without a problem. They will not need to be with you,

You only need their birth certificate plus a copy of their house book registry (ID card as well would help).

No financial proof needed and certainly no need for a TM30 form that only immigration wants.
