Police in Lat Krabang had little trouble identifying a murderer who stabbed a work colleague to death on Monday.

Witnesses had told them the man had a tattoo in the shape of sideburns.

To aid the cops in their hunt he even returned to the scene of the crime telling investigators he had nowhere to run to.

Earlier Manopporn "Pui" Somphao, 19, from Samut Sakhon, had been drinking with fellow construction workers at their camp by the Home Hap depot in Lat Krabang. It was his first day on the job after arriving from other work in Mae Sot in the north west.

He said the victim - Khammuan Saiprasert, 38 - hit him on the head in an argument.

So he responded by bottling the elder man then produced a 12 inch knife that he keeps with him.

He stabbed Khammuan once in the chest and fled.

But he said he had nowhere to go so decided to come back to the camp and found police there ready to arrest him.

The knife was taken into evidence.

Pol Col Thanat Naktham said the youth's sideburns tattoo made it a simple matter for his men to make the quick arrest.

Manopporn has been charged with murder and weapons offences and detained.

Nothing to do with him coming back to the crime scene while they were still there?

Yes I often wonder about the ''face tattoo''..did you really think that decision through ???

Probably not much more than he did the stabbing of poor Khammuan. I think we are seeing a pattern here. ?

That’s what I thought. Reading a story about identifying the guy by his rather silly tattoos to get all the way through just to realize the tattoos were totally irrelevant as he went back and handed himself in.

Yep, of course they speak stronger than the knife.

I have seen a lot of eyebrow tattoos as well as a couple of sideburn ones, Fake people is

what they have become.  Tattoos the body art!  At least  some of them look better than

the supposed art spray painted on someone  elses property such as graffiti.

Geezer

Mae Sot seems a strange place for him to have gone for work.  Lots of Burmese there who you'd think would fill the local labour market, especially construction.

Help me out here. Do these people lose it out of rage and kill someone for no reasonable reason or do they kill someone because they believe they'll get off with a very light sentence?

did you notice the tattoo on his scalp?

Looks like a tattoo of a durian helmet, complete with strap.
