webfact
Army chief concerned about disinformation in social media Army commander-in-chief Gen Chalermchai Sitthisart today expressed concern about fake news and disinformation that will be disseminated in the social media after the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) lifts the ban on political activities. However, he said he is not worried about the overall political situation as he believes that all sides are now looking forward to an election. Gen Chalermchai said one of the topics discussed at the meeting of NCPO yesterday was preparations for the general election. The army chief reaffirmed that the military junta will issue an executive order to partially relax the ban on political activities. The ban was imposed in a series of earlier executive orders shortly after the junta seized power in 2014. Yeah, like Prayuth is still contemplating a running for office, the dead friend watch lender, we will eradicate poverty in six months, we will solve Bangkok's traffic problems before the elections. Laughable.
Chris Lawrence
Have a look at Benny's page He has 800 followers that don't disinform on others, or something like that. Every-time I go to a real political page on TV, my security advises that I could loose information/or it could be shared. Strange that. But there is no lie in that TV is a hot bed of disinformation. Just start saying how good Mr T or his sister is and many TV users will jump on you. It also works the other way. And now we have the General who started all of this humbly saying he hasn't made up his mind yet, to have a political career. Isn't that a bit too late to say that? 3 hours ago, webfact said: Army commander-in-chief Gen Chalermchai Sitthisart today expressed concern about fake news and disinformation that will be disseminated in the social media after the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) lifts the ban on political activities. So shouldn't he give a wave to his boss on this one? and yeah Benny was given the watches? Where do you start.

A superlative disposition will always apply in relation to promoting oneself or said agenda principles. The fact that all stimuli, regardless of the source, is naturally subjective. All will be false and all will be real. The reality that most still buy tickets for the circus might be more than a little disconcerting.

spidermike007
Funny he would say that. My guess is that the majority of the population here, both native and ex-pat are far more concerned about disinformation from the army, every ministry they control, and Little P. They have been anything but truthful with us, to date. Their aversion to facts, and truth, reminds me of another grossly incompetent leader across the great pond. Get out. Get out now. You are not wanted. You are not needed. Few like you. Edited August 30, 2018 by spidermike007

No need to worry about the social media when the government media sources can spread the biggest lies they can dream up while thinking people are stupid enough to believe them. Just a few examples. The government will fix Bangkok's traffic problems, the PM is still deciding whether to enter politics, there will be no flooding, Thai Niyom funds not being used for populist programmes and the biggest lie of all... junta chief vows elections in November 2018. The list of false information coming from government spokespersons is endless and varies from small porkies to out and out untruths. Pinocchio did not get that name for no reason. 3

Yet, such interpretations of what the truth might be are all quite available and have been forever. Up to the respective population to decipher what is and what is not - and most can. As long as folks are free to be as they are it tends to be quite befitting in their cause. Heaps of Kreng Jai and other forms involved.
duanebigsby
Police and Military on the books, make moderate salaries. Why are they all so rich? Large estates, private helicopters, fancy cars.. It comes from somewhere. Chances are the gated community where you live is owned by an officer in the police or military. But, there is no corruption in Thailand.
