Video: "English Gentleman" called Vadim covered in blood seeks help after fight with farang in Pattaya

9pm.jpg

Civil Protection Volunteers on patrol in the Prathumnak Hill area of Pattaya were accosted by a tourist covered in blood in the early hours of this morning.

Seeking help was Vadim Vinograndov who said he had been eating and drinking at a bar on Thappraya Road when an argument broke out and he was hit by a fellow farang.

Police were called and after some evidence gathering the victim was whisked off to hospital.

He had several head wounds.

Siam Chon News said in their headline that the victim came from "The Land of Gentlemen" - a term that refers to English people.

It will be interesting to see if the CCTV works... many CCTV systems in Thailand always seem to have failed at critical times... (but not all, of course).

No one just 'starts a fight' for nothing, from a purely 'nosey' perspective it would be interesting to learn what led to this guy receiving a hiding...

should have stayed quiet and lick his own wounds...

... now the BIB will have to automatically Fine him, for being a part of a brawl

, no matter whether a simple innocent or not!

?? isn't it approx 500 baht the standard Fine for a victim these days?

That's quite an odd accent for an Englishman.  Perhaps he is an eastern European living in  the UK? My money is on Romanian since they can  easily enter the UK.

Where does it say that HE (Vadim), was English?

He is British but sure not English

From the article of "The Nation":

Quote

The tourist was identified as Vadim Vinograndov, who carries a British passport.

3 AM, got a good beating after having some booze over the top.

Yawn.

Only in Thailand: ask a cop for help after being beaten up.

Ending with full name, pictures, video etc. in misc. local sources.

Perhaps you are right.

Outrageous isnt it? Romanians living in england.

Old englishmen living ( if complaining 24/7  equates to living) in thailand.

I'm sure the insinuation that all romanians are beggars and/or crims is misplaced mind you.

If they established his nationality from his passport and that was British, then he is British, same principle as anywhere else.

A more fitting report would be 'two non-thai pissheads have a fight in a bar'

Can you imagine the following posts and speculation?

What nationality are they?

Was a girl involved?

Are they tourists?

Feel free to add more questions. ???

Edit.

Does anyone really wonder why the police in Pattaya don't give a big rat's ass about expats having a fight in a bar?

How much money do you bet?

Vadim is a popular Russian first name.

Vinogra(n)dov is a popular Russian family name.

Vinograndov might be a misspelling of Vinogradov.

Both don't sound Romanian. Romanian language (roman, indogerman) is so different from the Slavic languages. Sounds completely different (I watched the Ceausescu execution video a couple of times :whistling: )
