There is a Soi in Samut Prakarn that forms a single entry point for several Moo Bans, 2 gigantic schools, some factories and a lot of shops and markets. Needless to say that the Soi and its connecting main road are jammed 20 hours per day. City planning at it worst. Zoom in on the road grid of Bangkok and you know why this city is doomed. Throughout history, cities arose whre roads and rivers crossed, but in Bangkok its the opposite.

What "City planning"? Can you identify that "single entry point" Soi, please?

All those local daily markets cause loads of traffic and congestion.

If the Thai in BKK all used supermarkets it would reduce congestion.
Let's break it down to the problem that these local markets have no dedicated parking and loading zones.
Nothing wrong about these markets.
And even supermarkets and shopping malls cause horrible traffic jams.
For example Central World and Lat Phrao or the Train Market at Ratchada.

A mall is not a supermarket only, malls even contribute to more congestion because they don´t have good exits onto the mainroad.

BKK needs supermarkets with their own parkinglot, like the Makro....

And big trucks to supply them...

Small local markets have soo many small pickuptrucks who all go to the wholesale market every day.

It can be solved very easy, just ask Aldi or Lidl to come to Thailand....make sure they have good parkinglots and boy will it be busy there.

Let the bus drivers take care of the traffic... seems they are doing a better job than the BIB. Can you imagine how smooth the sailing must have been on the opposite lanes of the ones that were blocked by the bus drivers? I am sure that they did better than the traffic police...
