When this thread started, I was appalled that Thailand and Malaysia allowed this to happen.

 

I started googling child marriages and it isn't strictly a Muslim problem.

It's a world problem.

It happens across all religions, all colours of people, and across most of the world.

This is a people problem, not a religious one.

Sharia Civil Law was legalised in Yala, Narathiwat, Pattani and Songkhla  in 1946. No idea if Thai Law now overrides Sharia Civil Law in the applicable Provinces. If Thai Law does override Sharia Civil Law in the above Provinces, given it's Thailand, would not be surprised if corruption is also a factor with lack of law enforcement.

I really do not hate Muslims but I find it difficult to defend Islam. The prophet, peace be on him is held up as an ideal example and he married a nine year old so it is a good thing to do for Islamic people. Ok, not all of them, but a lot.

There is very little evidence of the actual facts of Muhammad's life. Just enough to know he probably existed, unlike Jesus where there is virtually no evidence.

 

The Bible and Qu'ran are stone age fairy tales.
