Over 7,000 people to attend “Wild Boars” thank you party

More than 7,000 people, including about 3,400 from Chiang Rai province alone, have accepted invitations to attend the reception to be hosted by the government on the courtyard of Dusit Palace and at the Royal Plaza on Thursday to thank all those who took part or contributed to the search and rescue operation that saved the lives of the young 12 soccer players and their coach trapped in Tham Luang cave during June-July.

His Majesty the King has graciously allowed the use of the courtyard of the Dusit Palace by the government to host the reception, which is offically known as “United As One.”

Pol Lt-Gen Kraiboon Suadsong, commissioner of strategic affairs of the Royal Thai Police, said the reception venue is divided into two zones – one on the courtyard of the palace and the other at the Royal Plaza.

Can't see Elon Musk or his sub on the poster... he might just tweet his anger about this slight

Have a look at the lower row, left below the governor.

How typically Thai-twisted can you get than this charade of a back-cloth, featuring who else but the idiot Narongsak at centre-stage? And what the hell did Prayuth do, towards the successful outcome, the heroes of which can barely be seen? Foolish or otherwise, those kids and their coach should fill this graphic, with people essential to their rescue being quietly featured around the edge. The whole bag-o-tricks has been a put-up job from start to finish, if you ask me and I'm not the only one, now, to take this view. There's a good read, 'The Thailand Cave Rescue Conspiracy' (on Amazon) that more than gives food for thought to the 'put-up' perspective.

it was an amazing rescue carried out by skilful and brave people but... has there been an investigation into why a teacher/coach/adult took children for whom he had a duty of care into a cave system in the rainy season that was know to flood? and i believe had warning signs about the danger - so what on earth was this 'adult' doing?

I read one report, not sure if it is true, that they went into the cave system to write their names on the rock, again, why? why deface and not respect nature? what was an adult doing condoning/encouraging such behaviour?

how about teaching the children he was responsible for to respect nature; dont go into a cave system in the rainy season - it's a dangerous thing to do, and dont vandalise the natural habitat.

many lessons to be learn here, but are they? or is it just seen as an excuse for grandstanding and claiming credit?

No, there's been no investigation and there's no need for one .

Let the people who worked so hard in the rescue enjoy their day .

No need to try to blame anyone , just one of those things that happen

yea, just one of those things that just happened. so... an adult that has responsibility for the safely and welfare of your child causes injury or worse to your child directly due to their action or inaction- not an accident, not a mistake - a completely avoidable incident; enabled, condoned, led by that adult, that would be fine by you, just one of those things? interesting philosophy on the duty of care adults should, or should not have?, for children in their care.

lets not forget one very brave man lost his life directly due to the actions of this adult, in your world that's just one of those things, mai pen rai? tell that to his family and friends.

You are the only one who is trying to "get someone" .

The boys Parents arent , the deceased soldiers friends and Family are not trying to get someone .

The Thai people arent out to get someone and neither are the Thai media .

Its just you and Elon musk who feel the need to "get someone"

That's because it's all a massive face-saving exercise, the parents/deceased soldiers family/media don't want to lose face by asking for 'more' in the way of someone taking responsibility.

Musk, on the other hand, is simply a mad man.

Give it a rest about "saving face" , not everything evolves around "saving face ",(hardly anything does actually) , many people put alot of effort into saving the boys , people worked tirelessly under extreme dangerous conditions and the King is just showing his appreciations .

Its just the Western mentality of trying to find someone to blame  , every situation they need to blame someone , its usually "I blame the Government ".

Now they are in Thailand , their mentality is now about "blame" and "face" .

Open your minds a bit , theres a whole lot more things going on, rather than blame and face

Please enlighten us as to what there is more than blame and face.

A boat sinks, first reaction blame the chinese.

A woman reports an assault on a southern Island, response denial and victim blaming.

A high profile Cop travels the country pointing the finger at foreigners for Thailand's crime problem.

The PM blames the media or reporting the truth causing face problem for him.

It goes on and on.

We are talking about this case in particular .

I do feel that there's no reason to point the finger and try and blame anyone .

With hindsight , it wasnt a good idea to go into a cave , but these things happen and as the sign at the cave entrance suggested that it was safe to enter (because the flooding would begin two weeks later) , he can be forgiven for entering the cave .

It has be stated that the boys went into the cave and the adult followed them later after being asked to do so by one of the Parents , anyway , no need to apportion blame
