tomx2
Hi. I will be traveling from to Bangkok to Phnom Penh in October staying for a month. Normally I take Bangkok Airways (being a member). Their RT price this year is 11,616 baht. I was looking for flight alternatives and a travel agent suggested Thai Smile airline. RT for about 6,000 baht. Never taken this airline, was just looking for some member feedback. If you previously used this airline: Would you recommend this airline? Do they overbook passengers even on a confirmed ticket? Are there flights on-time? Thanks for your feedback. TC.
KhunBENQ
ThaiSmile is a low cost split off from Thai Airways. I have flown them domestically maybe 20 times. Main reason for me is that they go to Suvarnabhumi. Only once a flight had to be cancelled due to technical problem with the plane at the gate which forced me to NokAir Never been refused with a confirmed booking. But I am never to the last minute. Maybe two late arrivals due to external forces like closing of airspace for "VIP", long detour. No airline is safe from that. Their planes (all A32x) are quite new. Snacks and non-alc drinks on all flights. Check in queues and other service always better than AirAsia. Final price shown in advertising and booking incl. 20 kg and seat reservation. No selling stuff hassle like AirAsia. From reports I know that Bangkok Airways is top notch and ThaiSmile might not keep up to that. But don't expect a horrible experience. Thanks for your quick reply. One quick (Q). Is the 20 kg limit calc for each baggage checked in, or is the total calculated based on the combined weight of all checked bags? Ex; If I check-in 2 bags. 1=14 kg 1=16 kg. Will I be charged?
KhunBENQ
Total weight counts. 30 kg will not go for free. As far as I remember you can pay for extra weight in advance.
