Lack of damage on the pick-up leads Thais to believe it must be "1809" for the lottery!

An accident between a Ford raptor pick-up and a Nissan Almera has led many Thais to believe they have the winning number in the next lottery draw.

People couldn't believe that the pick-up was damaged so little after it was rear ended by the smaller vehicle.

Pictures showed the Ford - license plate 1809 - with barely a scratch while the Nissan - plate number 7235 - was in a bad way.

Sanook said netizens were busy buying up the auspicious numbers for the next draw in the national lottery.

Though they did mention that at one million baht compared to the 500,000 cost of the Nissan, the Ford may be a stronger vehicle.

The accident happened in Kanchanaburi in Thailand's west.

Winning the big jackpot in Thailand is a risky business, sure, go on and win the lottery only for half a dozen cheaters and scammers  including high ranking police trying to muscle in on the prize and if you're unlucky enough, you'll shot dead in the process...

What a superstitious people Thais are.

Any ghosts or spirits involved ?

A strong possibility there was a frog in the back of the pickup. Someone we all know often uses the frog's magic powers.

So the rear bumper (fender) of the pick up has crushed the bonnet (hood) back and broken the plastic valance of a little biddy town car? big deal no damage as biddy car rode under tail of pick up.

Later pick of German bike v China car, plastic wing on a wheel, wheel edge will win - no news item

  • That's a plastic bumper cover, designed to deform at low speeds for pedestrian protection.
  • The car is a Daewoo Kalos / Chevrolet Aveo, made in South Korea, not China.
  • The bike is a Chinese bike, made in China.
  • Perpetuating boring stereotypes is so much fun though, whoop de doo.
  • And yes, I am fun at parties.
  • Thanks 1
