Six Bangkok cops transferred in probe of alleged extortion attempt

Six Bangkok policemen were yesterday transferred to inactive posts and are the subjects of a fact-finding probe over allegations that they raided the home of a 49-year-old food vendor and allegedly imposed a bogus Bt50,000 charge in exchange for his freedom on the night of August 10.

Food supplement fraudsters get 4,355-year sentence

Fraud suspect Pasit “Sinsae Shogun” Ariyalapit was sentenced on Wednesday by the primary court to a total of 4,355 years in prison plus a Bt20,000 fine, although under Thai law she would actually serve only 20 years behind bars as the maximum prison term for the offences.
