Also "spotted" in Rome.

Looks more like the Basilica than an alien spaceship. However, I could be wrong....

To the left and up a bit.

Ah, sorry I thought that was a bit of dirt on my screen.

If I remember the orientation of the Basilica correctly, it's in the West. So that rules out the Star of Bethlehem, which was in the East.

No Messiahs arriving today then.

Its Venus, Christians watch it set in the coming days or perhaps weeks, not sure, and then enjoy it rise again in December, it is symbolic of the rebirth of Christ.

After all the problems he caused Pontius Pilate first time round, I can't imagine that the Italians are too happy about him making a comeback.

Saw this last night, recorded from my porch. Too bright to be a star, too strange to be a drone.

Was it actually "flying" or just hanging there?  Changing position relative to your perspective, would be due to Earth's rotation as the night wears on.

Stars can be very bright.  Here's an example of one we see everyday.

Its Venus, its at its brightest last night and tonight.

I read somewhere that during WW2 some younger inexperienced pilots loosed off a few bursts of machine gun fire at Venus as they mistook it for a plane tail-light.

Not surprising really, half of TV thought it was a UFO!

UFO as in the commonly held concept of alien spaceship.

We'll know in 36 hours if I'm wrong. I have cancelled a mucky weekend on Kho Chang on the strength of it. Not worth the risk. I suggest you do the same.

You should go you might get a free anal probe ????
