I did get an question from a friend who claim that there is a black tabien baan. I tried to suggest to him when I saw the photograph, that it was a failure by the camera which created this sensation of a black instead of a blue tabien bann.

Someone who can enlighten me plse...... Is thre really a black tabien baan.....

thanks

Quote from the website (magnacarta.co.th) where you find this photo of a "black" house book:

Quote

There are two types of Tabien Bahn:

  • Blue (Thor.Ror.14) issued to Thai nationals
  • Yellow (Thor.Ror.13) issued to foreigners who meet specific criteria

And as you see on the photo it's a "Thor.Ror.14" as any other.

I once tried to photograph my yellow house book so that it looks like you see with your eyes (golden script e.g.). I failed.

On the net you find a multitude of color variations for the "blue" as well as the "yellow" house book.

All a technical issue.

When I got my house yellow book I also got given to me a identification card which has come in very useful , instead of lugging my passport around I just pull out my ID card no more having to go to immigration for a letter of residence which used to cost 500 baht a time , it’s also handy for the Government hospitaland and as I am over 60 it’s for life no need to renew it .

The Blue Book's blue color is fairly dark and can look more black in some light, furthermore camera and image color correction and profile might change the color of the image.

Reducing yellow color in the mix of black colors only – colors are mixed of red-green-blue (RGB, mainly for screen); or cyan-magenta-yellow-black (CMYK, mainly for print) – change the impression of the image, and the Blue House book is now blue...????

Reminds me of Henry Ford: You can have it (the car) any color you like, as long as it's black – talking about Thor.Ror.14 House Book's it's of course "blue"...????

Color fidelity in photography is for the pros.

Just look at the price for color calibrated monitors or calibration equipment.
