Bus maybe but it's very long and boring. I'm on a budget.

Was planning bus to morchit then fly to udon from Don muang I think this is best option?

Or maybe break the bus journey up with stops at korat - khon kaen - udon.

There is a very early flight from U-Tapao to Udon, AirAsia at 7:20 AM.

Should come less expensive than via DMK.

I would have to check whether AirAsia offers the additional van shuttle at this time (+250).

ThaiSmile flies from Suvarnabhumi, four flights daily, starting from 1300 Baht all incl. (one way).

Much more convenient than Don Mueang.

Jomtien bus to Suv. for 108 Baht.

Bus: good buses are available but expect up to 12 hours(?).

FD 2001

At US $41 and an hour flight time this has to be up there with the best.

Forgot about it.

But many might like the afternoon schedule (15:50) better?

Quite the opposite - spoke to may Thais and they say an afternoon flight "wastes" the day where an early flight gets them in to Udon in time for a days work
