I am still going to be needing to stay in Thailand for another 2 months after my extension finishes (I got a 60 day extension based on family visitation) Im guessing the easiest way to go will to just do another 2 visa runs for 30 days each, however just wondering if there is an easier way? Is it possible to get another extension on the extension? or an extension based on the 30 day re-enter (if I do one visa run, then come back and go in immigration for an extension just to save me the time of a full day for anothervisa run.)

You can apply for the 60 day extension to visit your Thai wife or child for a 30 day visa exempt entry. Some office will do the 60 day extension after you have already gotten the 30 day extension of a visa exempt entry.

You can only get 2 visa exempt entries per calendar year at land border crossings.

Thanks for the response, Im not sure if I follow 'the 60 day extension for a 30 day visa exempt entry' is throwing me off, you mean to say when I renter visa land (so next time I do visa run) at the boarder I should ask them for 60 days extension?

I was on a multi entry vise previously, so had to do visa run every 90 days, so all my previous entries would have been with visa. Im in Chiang Mai and do the visa runs to Mae Sai, not sure if they have offices there, I just remember little glassed cubicles, didnt seem anywhere I could hand in documents, just seemed like officers with stamps. Would be great if I could get 60 day on next entry thats all I need.

Not possible to get an extension on current 60 day extension?

Not another 60 days but you can get one year if you qualify.

On visa exempt entry in Mai Sai you get 30 days that you can extend with 60 days.

No

You would apply for the 60 day extension at your local immigration office near the end of the 30 day entry.

You can only get one 60 day extension per entry.

No. When you do your visa run you’ll be given permission to stay for 30 days. Towards the end of the 30 days you can apply (at your local immigration office) for a 30 day extension for ‘tourism’ OR. A 60 day extension to visit your wife.
