PM invites Thais to don yellow on October 13th

BANGKOK, 8th October 2018 (NNT) – The Thai Prime Minister has invited members of the Thai public to wear yellow on October 13th to commemorate the passing of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. 

In his weekly televised address, Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha said public and private organizations will hold various activities including religious ceremonies to mark the second anniversary of the passing of His Majesty King Rama IX of the House of Chakri, on October 13th. 

To demonstrate loyalty and love for the late monarch, Gen Prayut is asking the public to wear yellow, the color of His late Majesty’s day of birth. 

He also invited Thai people and foreigners to an exhibition at Siam Paragon shopping center, showcasing the late monarch’s contributions to the perpetuation of Thai arts and culture. Hosted by the Ministry of Culture, the exhibition will take place from October 12th to 21st. 

His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej passed away on October 13th, 2016. He was the ninth monarch of Thailand and reigned for seven decades.

Senior district official arrested for alleged poaching in national park

While many are scratching their heads over how to reconcile deeply divided Thais torn apart by their love or hate of certain political figures, the real problem may lie elsewhere. It’s a problem that always hounded Thai democracy even in peaceful times, and it mattered not which side of the polarity held power. It’s the practice of giving away Cabinet posts in exchange for crucial support.

Seven charges filed against suspects accused of illegal hunting in Kanchanaburi

Seven charges have been lodged against 12 members of a suspected hunting party allegedly led by a deputy district chief officer after forest rangers of the Saiyok national park in the western province of Kanchanaburi found carcass of a bearcat, one rifle, two handguns and ammunition in their vehicles on Sunday.

PM glad paper plane champ receives citizenship

BANGKOK, 8th October 2018 (NNT) – Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha is happy to hear that Mong Thongdee, who rose to fame as the champion of local and international folded-paper airplane competitions, has been granted citizenship, according to Government Spokesperson Lt Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd.

NY limousine crash kills 20 in deadliest U.S. vehicle accident since 2009
