Bag Snatcher Arrested on Jomtien Beach

On the 11th of February at 11.30pm Dongtan Police were called to the scene of a bag snatching near the Rimhad Jomtien Condominium.

Police rushed to the scene to find Mr. Veikko Orvokki aged 50 and Mrs. Sirkka Orvokki, aged 61, both from Finland and also discovered the snatcher, Khajorndet Rakkong, aged 23, who had been captured by the security guard of the Rimhad Jomtien Condominium.

Mrs. Orvokki told Police that they were walking back to their hotel along the Jomtien Beach, when they were approached by the attacker who attempted to grab her bag. She and her husband resisted and shouted for help.

Fortunately, passersby came and assisted them. The attacker then jumped onto a motorbike which was waiting for him with his two friends on board and unfortunately he fell from the motorbike and tried to run away when the security guard caught him.

More information of his friends was given by the offender and Police investigation continues.
