The TANK on the toilet was broken as well as the seat. That is probably why the manager was in the room, because the toilet was probably leaking a lot of water from the tank. Maybe a maid noticed the problem when she went to clean the room.

(I'm guess that the girls broke the toilet and then took off. Surprised they didn't check out and go to another hotel.)

the cistern tank lid is off but does not look damaged, but looks like the back of the cistern tank is broken, can not understand how that has broke? I am thinking a stress fracture due to the wall behind being not flat, as there are no fixings on the broken piece.

Maybe the dumb maintenance kid took the seat to pieces investigating a leek from the cistern, and the manager intended to screw those ladies one way or another.

it's obviously aimed at UK ignoramuses who are shocked by armed police, when in fact police is almost always armed in Thailand.

It's the kind of dishonest and manipulative reporting I dislike.

The ignoramuses are those that have to have all their police armed and look on it as OK and normal. Saying they had guns was not dishonest or manipulative in this context unlike demanding £150 for a £10 toilet seat that any Somchai could have replaced. The broken cistern looks more like poor installation unless someone had been standing on it.

My response in a situation like this, would be take me to the station. I want to have a talk with your captain. My friend, in Bangkok who is a Police Colonel wants to talk to your captain too. You decide what you want to do, you corrupt little squirrel face. Remember, they are not police. They are franchisees. They want an easy mark. Resist, with all the power within your being. Do not ever give them money, easily. Put up a major fight. Usually they back down.

I suggest you look again.

Done that?

Now, you too can see for yourself that the toilet isn't "smashed.

Just the plastic seat cover. 500 Baht at the most - even if the women actually did break it. Scammed and you agreed with the scammers.

Also - you now know the difference between "smashed"...…. and "broken"

There. You've learned something useful. Well done!

500 THB at most, for in your home maybe. If you damage something in a BUSINESS, it can't be used for a while until it is repaired by somebody who needs to come and getting paid. During that time other customers at inconvenienced. The business gets a bad name (toilet doesn't even work). So you pay more, don't damage anything if you don't want to pay.

There, you might have learned something.

I'm only 4 pages in yet haven't seen one comment about the fact they knowingly broke the toilet told no one went about their business and it was up to ( I assume) whoever cleaned the room to discover it and tell the manager. Dirty slags probably would have tried to check out without owning up.

The back of the water tank is broken. The broken piece is sitting on the toilet bowl. That means the entire toilet has to be replaced. Far more than "500 baht at the most".
How about you getting an eye exam and then telling us how customers that damaged a toilet are being scammed by having to pay for those damages.

(No they wouldn't just try and glue the broken piece back on and why should they. If you puked on the carpet or pissed on the bed, like I'm sure some of you have done, do you think they'd just cut out the stained piece and slap some plastic over top of it ? From the sounds of it, more than a couple of you have probably done the same thing and then snuck out before they caught you, haven't you ?)

And for those narrow minded people that apparently still don't have a clue  - the police did not "scam" them and did not "rip them off". They were intermediaries in the dispute between the owner of the hotel and the women.

The owner wanted 10,000 baht to repair the damages. It was negotiated down to 6,500 baht.

Of course if the women didn't pay for the damages they'd have probably been arrested. What do you expect ? "Oh, you're from the UK ? Oh it's OK, don't worry about it, the hotel will pay for the damages you caused. Have a nice flight home."

Seriously - that is how some of you apparently think. And you know better !

Oh and keep in mind that it seems this happened on the last day of their holiday (as they said they paid because they didn't want to miss their flight).

So they trashed the room on their last day and were probably hoping they'd fly out before anyone noticed.

And the instant you see almost ANY article in the Sun that has anything to do with Thailand, the first thing you should do is assume it is probably total bull**** and then look at the bottom of the story where you will see this:
"We pay for your stories! Do you have a story for The Sun Online news team? Email us at [email protected] or call 0207 782 4368"

Then maybe you'd have a clue and wouldn't need an eye exam.

Thailand dose not need uk news papers to tarnish there reputation.

They manage that,  just fine on there own. :jap:

Some might be surprised as to how well these techniques and responses work.

Cheers!!

In your dreams.

That was actually reality. But don't worry. All is not lost. If you go out and meet women, you can do the same.

It's like this other commenter in another thread who starts talking trash because i said i have sex with a lot of women.

You don't have to get all butthurt just because another guy has great success with females.

Don't hate. Congratulate!

Thank you

That is a rather personal matter and I do feel that if you need to tell him, you could tell him Privately by PM .

The amount of time that you copulate has nothing to do with the thread

Now now, hear the man out. It's probably more interesting (and relevant) than hearing about how much the average poster here hates Thais and Thailand, which tends to pop up most threads.

There are specialist websites where people can talk with each other about their sex lives

Thanks for clearing that up. Could have been an embarrassing mistake for me to make...

There would be no need to be embarrassed about anything , most Thais dont get embarrassed about sex , they talk about it openly and freely , rather than making anonymous smutty innuendos on-line .

*Ohhh sex ha ha ha , so embarrassing*
