Dear all,

I hope somebody can give me clear information about the following topic.

I got a working contract from a Bangkok established Non-Governmental-Organisation, but have to work from their Hong Kong office. However, it is necessary to come frequently to the headquater office in Bangkok. Since I can visit Bangkok with a tourist visa only 3 times a 30 days within 180 days and afterwards I have to stay awy from Thailand for another 180 days, I would like to ask for which kind of visa I shall apply. Is this the non-immigration B visa or do I need to apply for another kind of visa?? Do I understand correctly that a non-immigration B visa is only suitable in case I work permanently in Bangkok??

I would be very pleased if somebody could give me clear advice. Thanks a lot in advance

You work in Hong Kong but have to visit the organisation’s Bangkok head office frequently. How much of your time you plan to spend in Bangkok? More than 50 %?

If it is more than 90 days in any 6-month period, get a multiple-entry non-B visa. This is available for frequent business trips to Bangkok during one year. You will need a letter from Bangkok head office for your visa application.

While working in Hong Kong, I would imagine that you visit the headquater office in Bangkok only for a few days, each time. Means your are not staying 30 days per visit and accumulate 90 days within 180 days?

AFAIK, there is no limit on number of visits during the 180-days-period. Theoretically, you can come/leave same day for 90 times.

More realistic. Visit Thailand every month for 3 days gives you visa-exempted stays of 18 days, visit twice each month for 3 days gives you 36 days inside Thailand within the 180 days period.

The non-imm B would be suitable if you would work inside Thailand. You than could stay 90 days before you have to leave or you would be able to apply for extension of stay up to 1 year.
