Leicester City football club owner's helicopter crashes outside stadium

Clearly no need to when there are armchair experts like you who can conclude the cause of the crash without even witnessing it or examining the crash site.  Perhaps you should contact the AAIB to advise them that TVF has the full spectrum of armchair experts and that the next few months of close examination by the AAIB, to determine the actual cause of the accident, may not be needed [emoji23]

Why so much secrecy about who was on the board?

So why do you need to know ?  Presume, as it was a fireball the occupants would be fried and a bit hard to identify, and then relatives have to be notified first, when they are sure.

A passenger count confirmation is not the same as an identity/casualty list. It's an odd report.

It's not odd at all, it's completely normal in the circumstances.

Nope.

In that case then your reply was nonsensical but perhaps you are armchair expert pals whom praise each on your perceived expert knowledge  ????   But again I will say show some respect for the deceased which is far more important at this time then you two attempting to convince others on this forum of your knowledge in these matters.

Whatever, confirming 1 person seems very odd. Surely they know the number of people aboard. No mention of a pilot. All very normal yh.

Secrecy? It all boils down to face. Yes, typically the Thai face syndrome. Wealthy people cannot die so easily...LOL

It's normal they they want to wait until they have the facts before talking about how many people were killed.

It's safe to assume that all on board didn't survive, though the rescue services will be trying to work out if the helicopter killed anyone on the ground.

Very simple really.

Below a certain height/airspeed combination there's no safe way to contact the ground.

A similar instance in a fixed wing aircraft would be a stall/spin below minimum recovery height.

One doesn't have to be an "expert".

Just an ordinary, everyday......"skydriver" (pilot).

It's as simple as safe stopping distance in a car.

As a fixed wing pilot (PPL) I can assure you that a stall is about speed, not height!

Sky News is just reporting that apart from the owner, there were 4 other people including Wichai's daughter, 2 pilots and one unnamed person so far

..air crash protocol...next of kin must be notified first.

BBC News (10.00am GMT) says he was on board but haven't confirmed he was dead.  Flowers laid outside the ground.  No talk (apart from the usual rumours) of any other high profile figures in the news so far.

I will say they are taking too much time to announce the names in the the manifest list....

notificstion is is much easier when all know each other vs say a tourist crash where there is no connection to passengers...

There's talk that Gareth Southgate was ready, as he touched base in the said helicopter

“Talk” as in rumour?

Enough of this conspiracy nonsense ! In the UK it is standard practice to withold the names of victims until the next of kin have been informed.

If the accident had involved a coach load of ordinary working class supporters there would also be no names released immediately .

Well did anybody survive the accident? I think the reporting is weird...they could just mention about victims being brought to a hospital or something like that. Why is it all so secret?
