Why Pattaya Changed

20 years ago the A-wraps still had their little section around the Marine Disco and they went hand in hand with their Ladyboyz - no worries.

Walking Street did not have some tour leader with a pole and little flag leading a bunch of noob gawkers down the road.

Things were fun and carefree - Sanuk was the play of day.

Pattaya is finished for the sexpat. When it costs $1-200 for a girl in a third world country no one is going to be bothered to fly 10,000 kms.

Are you paying $1200. for the company of a lady in a third world country?

I thought the thread was about WHY Pattaya changed and not HOW.

Pretty jolly awful when I went there in 2016.

Dirty,humid,polluted and congested by traffic.

The average tourist (male 55-65 years of age by the looks of it) sat slobbering over his smart phone or I-pad.

A laugh a minute..the Fort Zinderneuf of the Orient.

The whole scene is/has changed.

As recently as 3 years ago, the Discos had a fair share of Falang.

Now, it is a very very low number.

With this, the Thai girls seem to have no problem going with Arab or Indian or Chinese guys.  They seem to like them.  Sorry Falang.

Some times I will ride my motorbike thru WS at 500 am.  The majority of girls are leaving/walking with non Falang.

So, like I said... it is what it is.

Accept it or.....

Should have been there 20 years before.  No smart phones.  The average tourist/male sat slobbering over his bar girl/boy.

I was in Pattaya in 1968 too.  We had the ones below.  They were a bit big for the girls.  Before I was there there were only fisherman.  So it would have been a fisherman's tale then.

Thailand has good hospitals and roads everywhere and that is not bothered by the rich and poor thing.

If you did'nt have enough money for the hospital,  I imagine that

you might be bothered.

You wrote, " All cities are troubled because there is always a rich half and a poor half."  Thailand has good roads and hospitals which are used by both rich and poor Thais.  Poor working Thais can use the rich hospitals on their work insurance.  Poor Farang can use good government hospitals in Thailand for much less than the private hospitals.  And rich and poor alike use the Thai roads.

Yep, I believe the poor in Pattaya could get access to Banglamung Hospital services for

B30 no insurance required, and the poor, like myself, can use our bicycles on all roads.

What I was trying to say is that the rich poor division will cause certain tensions

and resentment within Pattaya or any city.     Gotta leave your gold Rolex at home!

And stop stealing all their pretty women!!

And outside 7/11 also. However, stats show Thailand to be worse.
