Rimmer
Naklua Soi 18/1 exemplifies Pattaya’s garbage crisis PATTAYA:--No street shows how badly Pattaya is coping with its growing mountain of garbage than Naklua Soi 18/1. Even if it were possible to stroll down the sidewalks – it’s not, due to trees that have fallen on them – pedestrians have to traipse through piles of rotting rubbish, plastic bags, food scraps and leaves. At night most the bulbs are burned out, leaving it dark. Neighbors have had enough and are demanding Pattaya City Hall do its job and clean the streets, fix the lights and trim the trees. With a number of hotels nearby, Soi 18/1 paints an ugly picture of Pattaya for tourists. The street is only one of many plagued by garbage. Pattaya has been incapable of picking up trash regularly and, when it does, doesn’t have enough places to dump it. -- © Copyright Pattaya Mail 2018-11-02

balo
Soi 18 is not worse than other sois in Banglamung , a few km's away . But more tourists , especially Russians are walking down that soi. This is normal and nothing will happen until they start cleaning up weekly.

morrobay
I see none of the above have a clue what the cause is : The tour bus POS drivers and co. that camp around there. Soi-20 is a mess too when those lowlifes park there. Walking down to that beach you sometimes have to kick the garbage away. It's a city wide problem. Like the mess "these" taxi drivers make throwing garbage in gutter next to cabs. Strange mentality that ignores this year in year out while trying to attract quality visitors?? Pattaya taxi-drivers all have a get-out-of-jail-free card issued by the local Plod who are too busy robbing other road-users.
