Prawit: No officials tied to drug rings

BANGKOK, 3rd November 2018 (NNT) – Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan has confirmed that no officials are involved in drug smuggling or trading. 

Asserting the government’s commitment to eradicating illicit drugs in Thailand, the deputy premier in charge of public security said related agencies are cracking down on drug related activities across the nation, and have apprehended a large number of dealers and smugglers in recent months. 

In response to an observation that there have been more reported drug busts in recent months, Gen Prawit said manufacturers are making more while some drugs are still smuggled in over the border. 

He then confirmed that no state authorities are complicit in drug activities as had been rumored.

Officials DON"T get caught! That's why he can come out with a silly statement such as this.

So who put the confiscated drugs back into the system ?

I tend to get a bit suspicious of some of these busts when they say that the perps "ran away into the dark". ????

Love the use of the word "confirm" in this context. It's like a little big man has spoken, and ye shall accept and obey his word and command. Thais news staff have never really understood this side of things.

You mean like the 100-plus cops who raided the notorious Pratunam gambling den yet still were unable to nab the principals.

And even if they do look like getting caught the NACC will step in to protect them. Just like some person we all know who happened to have a lot of ill gotten watches.

 

Once more...nothing confirms the truth as well as an official denial.

Anyone with the slightest modicum of knowledge of officialdom would know that history has proven that the opposite of whatever is stated always rings truer.

It's common knowledge that the opposite is true in SE Asia.

To this very day.

And for nigh on 5-6 decades.

There's even several books written about it.

Prawit, Mr Credibility. How would he know? I suppose he asked his subordinates who told him that they were not involved in drugs. A very rigorous analysis by all concerned and worthy of a new ultra expensive watch from his dead pal.
