I'm currently married to a Thai woman, and had plan to apply for Thai nationality, but my wife wants to divorce, so I'm out of luck for Thai nationality right now, and instead I'll have to try to revert to Permanent Residency.

The problem is that my salary is only 50,000 Baht, and the income requirement when not married rises to 80,000 Baht, so I'd like to find a way to fill the 30,000 Baht gap. As a side note I'm working for Iglu (the company that allows freelancers to work in Thailand), so I'd potentially have to option of taking a second (part-time) job, but is that possible?

I'm actually making roughly 150,000 Baht per month, and my customers send a little over 70,000 to Iglu every month on average which converts to 50,000 Baht after their fee. The rest of my income cannot go through Iglu due to legal issues and other limitations. It's also fine with me, as I'd like to avoid paying the 30% fee on my full income.

With the new work permit rules recently discussed on Thaivisa, I wonder if it is possible for some of my customers to pay be directly to my PayPal / bank accounts in Thailand while I'm still working for Iglu, and then I'd pay taxes on that income too beside my salary from Iglu.

I'm also thinking about rental income, since foreigners can buy one condo. But I don't know if that's valid for PR income, and to get a 30,000 Baht rent, I'd have to buy a pretty large condo with money brought from overseas.

I could also open a company overseas and get my payments through that company, but obviously the costs, would be high, and I'd have to pay Iglu almost 120,000 Baht per month, which I'm not sure I can make once all costs are considered.

I'm just thinking at the various options available to me. Thank you.

The income shown on your tax returns for past 3 years is what is important. That is what has to be shown when applying for PR.

Thanks looking at the "CATEGORY OF WORKING/BUSINESS" section, I can see the PND 90/91 form for which I should be able to get to 80,000 per month on average (960,000 per year), but they also mention PND 1 which will show 50,000 Baht per month salary income. Would that become an issue then?

My company told me they could not provide PND 1 because it lists salary for all employees.
However, at the end of the year there's PND1KOR that provides a summary for the whole year salary.

But anyway, my net salary is about 50,000 Baht, so I suppose my gross salary may be around 55,000 Baht so I have a gap of 25,000 Baht to reach 80,000 Baht. I assume I could transfer 25,000 or more Baht from my overseas income to get taxed 80,000 Baht per month.

My question is that if I have a PND 1 form showing 55,000 Baht monthly income, and a PND 91 form showing 80,000 Baht monthly taxable income, would I still qualify for residence permit application?
