The only real crime here is how horribly tacky these calendars are.

Is that Peters and Lee promoting their new single "Welcome Home'"?

Hasn't the base political ideal of the named redshirts faded?

Except when perpetuated by the media and other associations.

After just a cursory glance at the calendars it is very obvious (at least to me) what the source of the calendars is.

They are out to squash every little bit of freedom there is by saying it is national security and bad looking for Thailand. These guys are bad for Thailand, especially the Chinese trade deal they just inked.

Has TV already considered to add some pictures of them to the TV calendar?

Just up with it, authorities! What´s not legal?

He declined to identify the people responsible. When a reporter asked whether it was Pheu Thai Party, founded by Thaksin and later led by Yingluck, Adithep replied, “Everyone knows the answer to that. There is no mystery.”

While the pair has yet to be charged with any crime, investigators are planning to fine the calendar makers for violating the Publishing Act, Adithep added.

So there goes Pheu Thai all done and dusted, now move on to the next target, future forward party

Actually beyond that. Thailand has a cuddly ' populist ' stratocracy.

' We know it is completely wrong but we are just following orders like the minions we are. Please don't embarrass us by making us look bad . It's not our fault. When the boss shouts s**t , we just jump on the shovel. '

It's a calendar for gods sake.  Did some poor junta member get a paper cut?

It's an unelected junta.  If there isn't a law on the book they can simply make one.  They already have rewritten the laws, they simply forgot to add 'calendars with pictures of the Shins will be deemed illegal and subject to 5 years in jail and 10,000 THB fine.'

You obviously don't live in the rural North or Northeast.  All that's faded are the shirts that have been tucked away in the closet by those who understand what the word 'repression' means.

Could have been worse. They could have been playing bridge using card deck that didn't have excise tax paid.

The junta composed of small men, fearful men, on some level they know Thai people have had enough of them and want them to move on

I just buried my copy of Orwell's 1984 behind the house (that of my pesky neighbour) to prevent an invitation by the "Thought Police".

All Liverpool and Man United supporters are secret Red Shirt supporters!  lock 'em up!!!

What a politically incorrect word for the official term: "voluntarily temporary change of address" (VTCA)

that's not the Shins, it's one half of ABBA.

Why only briefly? Put all the red-shirts somewhere in a dungeon. Maybe add some sand so that they can imagine they are in the desert together with their hero.

No gifts  for soldiers this year, as they don't have any Christmas Spirit.

Just waiting for the next "weapons Cache" to mysteriously be discovered in Chachangsao..........

Seized his red bowls and calendars. That will teach Thaksin not to mess with the junta. The final 2 acts to rid his regime.????

Just release a counter pro-junta calendar in response. That'll stick it to the reds. Bloody commies.

What about a watch calendar?  Every month a different expensive watch donated by a deceased friend.

Heck, I truly wish we get to see the video of them burning the pile of calendars. The only thing worse than beating tourist senseless  or blatant 'fining' of 'tourist only' would be 'book burning'. No fireworks this year but you can watch the book/calendar burnings.  I am on the verge of saying Thailand never ceases to amaze.
