lately i was told by a thai visa expert that with a retirement non o visa

he is allowed to help his wife in any way he wants

as long he (himself) is not making any money

so simple all  earnings on the wifies account none on his

just make sure nobody sees him collect the money

i myself i drive around collecting the customers for my wife's cooking school

so she makes money i do not (isnt that thai style all over)

Such info later used in a news story by someone just there for a wash.

Yup, got an Ozzie friend here in Thailand that recently found out about this. He just turned 65 and was ready to collect his pension so he’s had to leave his Thai wife here and return to Australia to “put in” his two years.

I wasnt going to bother going back but thought stuff it they got enough of my money I would like a little back even though it will be well short of a full pension. Jan 15th next year is my entry date, I may write a blogg about the experience depending on how mad I get.

Well mate I was a tax payer for over 50 years, so it may not be their money but it sure as hell is some of mine.

The mani reason I decided to go back was because of the waste they are making with what money I gave them and the fact of others who walk into the country and get free hand outs from day 1 from my money.

By the way I do really need it.

Hey Billy, Public pension spending is only 3.5% of national income in Australia, compared with an average of over 7% of GDP in OECD countries”. That might deserve a mention in your blog. "SOURCE"

 

It needs detaching from "welfare" (Centrelink) - it needs the status of "entitlement" or "right". NOT a handout to the poor.  And it needs to rise to at least 5% ++ of GDP. We earned it mate - I NEVER touched base with centrelink until I retired... I too paid a small fortune in tax..
