Why wasn't she transported by ambulance?!?!?!

I understand that one hospital may be better equipped to handle certain emergencies and patients are sometimes transferred, but I can't understand why the poor woman had to take a taxi! Unbelievable!

Was the first hospital made aware that the woman had drank some of the acid?

  I do understand the taxi being the mode of transport, as ambulances may not always

be available, however the first hospital may have thought to put her into one.
