BANGKOK, 16 November 2018, (NNT) - Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan has expressed condolences and provided monetary assistance to the family of youth boxer Petchmongkol Sor Wilaithong , or Anucha Tasako , who passed away from a brain hemorrhage after being knocked out at the 1st Anti-Drugs Charity Boxing Competition.

Speaking at the 5 Provinces Forest Foundation, Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan, as chairman of the National Olympics Committee, voiced condolences over the passing of youth Anucha. He bid strength to the young boxer’s family and provided them with funding through the boy’s uncle Damrong Tasako . The National Legislative Assembly’s (NLA) Education and Sporting Committee provided an additional 5,000 baht.

Damrong thanked all for their assistance but noted disagreement towards the government’s decision to push for legislation barring children under 12 years of age from boxing, saying that more safety precautions be imposed instead.
