Thai national costume ready for Miss Universe Thailand

 

 

Bangkok, 20 Novermber 2018 (NNT) - As Miss Universe 2018, the 67th Miss Universe pageant, will take place next month in Bangkok, Thailand, Miss Universe Thailand has unveiled the national costume for Miss Thailand called "Chang the Icon of Siam" 

Sophida Kanchanarin, who will represent Thailand at the Miss Universe 2018 pageant, worn "Chang the Icon of Siam" during the press conference. The elegant costume is ready for the international competition, and is designed by Tee Phasux who won the national costume contest this year. 

The Director of Miss Universe Thailand, Surang Prempree, said the dress will represent Thailand and will deliver an outstanding presentation on the stage. She believed that this national costume will impress the global audience watching the Miss Universe 2018 competition. 

The designer unveiled that the 20-kilogram costume is decorated with sparkling crystals from Swarovski. He added that the costume is a combination of Thai dress and technology, which is the highlight of this year. The costume also uses hydraulics to transform the dress into an elephant, hence the name "Chang the Icon of Siam". 

The 67th Miss Universe pageant will take place at the Arena Mueng Thong Thani, Thailand on December, 17th.
