THE 34-year-old Chai Nat farmer Surat Paewkate – who made headlines for his unusual friendship with a five-year-old buffalo called Thong Kham – was separated from his four-legged best friend yesterday when police took the animal away over allegations that Surat had used this “friendship” to get money from others. Surat had been hired to take care of the buffalo.

Face-slapped ‘Nat’ draws line under the matter after donating his compensation to charitable causes

Ayutthaya hotel receptionist Panita “Nat” Kochprapa, who was slapped in the face by a Nakhon Ratchasima businessman for prohibiting him from smoking in the hotel’s restaurant on November 6, said on Tuesday that he no longer wished to talk about the matter after having given the Bt40,000 in compensation money he had received to charitable causes.

No water for irrigation this dry season

THERE WILL be enough water for consumption for everybody this dry season, the Royal Irrigation Department (RID) assured, despite the fact that water reserves in many dams are running low.
