PHUKET, 28 November 2018 (NNT) - Phuket Dinghy Series 2018 has concluded this year's last tournament with sailors from the navy's windjammer club winning in all categories.

The Phuket Dinghy Series 2018 finals, held for the ninth consecutive year, has concluded at Blue Siam Beach Club in the southern province, following the qualification rounds which got started in October.

Some 60 sailors, aged between eight and 17 years, have joined in three major categories in which those from the Third Naval Area Command's windjammer club have won the titles.

Referee Capt Pormphrom Sakultem said Phuket Dinghy Series is a challenging championship for competitors to gain more experiences in a variety of environment, winds, and waves. The series serve as a great practice for competitors who may join in the King's Cup Regatta International Dinghy Class Race, which will take place during 2 December and 8 December 2018 at Kata beach.

The King's Cup will welcome young contestants from Hong Kong, China, Singapore, and Malaysia, with some 100 dinghies.

Phuket Dinghy Series has proven to be a successful competition throughout its nine-year run, as it has encouraged the Thai contestants to improve their skills at international level.
