Extreme Brexit could be worse than financial crisis for UK: BoE

Brexit is the best thing to have happened in UK politics since WW2. It has woken people up to the truth about the political class.

Some really good things are going to come because of this. Out of EU. BBC forced to run without licence fee. Proportional representation. Revamping of our once great fishing industry. And of course the biggie; dissolving of H of L.

This debate is just like the people trying to get onto the Titanic. Remoaners are saying that the ship is destined for great things. Brexiteers are saying "don't get on, there are not enough lifeboats."

And, as we now know the Titanic didn't do so well. Just like the ship; the EU is doomed. Our country saved by astute voters; as will be evident at the EU elections.

We Were saved by our astute voters. Unfortunately our negotiations were led by Treacherous May. But not to worry, we have found a replacement.

Have a great week.

This man wants a single market. He's been made a member of the national CON party. He's talking with the CON whips AND Corbyn. He backs May's deal. He's a one nation Tory.

We should support people like him.

Why?

He is not doing the job that he is paid to do which is to do what his constituents want. He is doing what he wants to do.

If he were a person of morals,  principles and honesty he would resign his seat and fight a bye election, preferably at his own personal cost.

Any person with moral integrity would quit the job and stand as an independent but not him or all the other MPs that quit their parties and their constituents.

They are quite happy to take the salary and don't care about their constituents who they are PAID handsomely to represent.

Hypocrites the lot of them.

When the going gets tough they chicken out, but only part way. They still take the money but do NOTHING for the people who put them into the place.

How many of the following do you include in your lengthy tirade?

Vauxhall Remain vote: 77.6% MP: Kate Hoey (Labour) backed Leave

Kensington Remain vote: 68.8% MP: Victoria Borwick (Conservative) backed Leave

Birmingham Hall Green Remain vote: 66.4% MP: Roger Godsiff (Labour) backed Leave

Leyton and Wanstead Remain vote: 65.2% MP: John Cryer (Labour) backed Leave

St Albans Remain vote: 62.2% MP: Anne Main (Conservative) backed Leave

Enfield Southgate Remain vote: 62.1% MP: David Burrowes (Conservative) backed Leave Altrincham and Sale West Remain vote: 61.4% MP: Graham Brady (Conservative) backed Leave

Hitchin and Harpenden Remain vote: 60.2% MP: Peter Lilley (Conservative) backed Leave

Chipping Barnet Remain vote: 58.9% MP: Theresa Villiers (Conservative) backed Leave

Fermanagh and South Tyrone Remain vote: 58.6% MP: Tom Elliott (Ulster Unionist Party) backed Leave

Esher and Walton Remain vote: 58.4% MP: Dominic Raab (Conservative) backed Leave

Hendon Remain vote: 58.4% MP: Matthew Offord (Conservative) backed Leave

Wokingham Remain vote: 57.3% MP: John Redwood (Conservative) backed Leave

Woking Remain vote: 55.7% MP: Jonathan Lord (Conservative) backed Leave

York Outer Remain vote: 55.3% MP: Julian Sturdy (Conservative) backed Leave

(Source, though I've not posted the full list to save space)

Perhaps you can show us which, if any, of these MPs have changed their stance and now represent their constituents' views by backing Remain? I know my MP, Jonathon Lord, hasn't!

I forgot Jacob Rees-Mogg;  Bath and North East Somerset, which includes his constituency, voted 57.9% Remain (source). When will you be calling for his resignation as an MP?

Incorrect

According to Chris Hanretty of the University of East Anglia, who calculated the Brexit vote by constituency, North East Somerset was 52.1% Leave 47.9% Remain. I notice some people are confusing the constituency with the local authority.

Every Leave constituency where the MP voted Remain

More than 400 MPs were at odds with their constituencies over Brexit by backing Remain in an area that voted to leave – although most have now said that they will support the Brexit process.

Can you now produce a list of all those M.P. who have gone against the expressed wishes of their constituents, and voted to remain. It will take you much longer, therefore in order to help you,

In case you have lost the list.

Nice to see Brexiteers getting their priorities right and blaming events that are outside the EU.

I don't believe that for one minute. We disagree on Brexit but you know how representative parliamentary democracy works or is supposed to work. You're no fool.

The really depressing thing about the whole Brexit saga is not that we are to remain shackled to the EUSSR (with a terrible deal) but the final realisation that we are in deed ruled by an "elite" few and that our votes count for nothing.

Surely Brexit was a peoples thing, the result of an elitist

government 'surprise clanger'.

In the course of Brexit, it has become all too clear, that we,

the people, have no say in how we are fooled and ruled.

There is only one solution, a Wat Tyler number 2.

The admirable French folk have right idea, something,

strangely, not given much coverage in UK MSM.

But I don't give up that easily.

Perhaps it is you who don't understand.

MPs are elected to look after the wishes of the constituency. That is their job and that is what they are paid for with taxpayers money.

If, as an MP, you want to follow your own convictions and ignore the people who elected then be honest and say so, BEFORE you get elected and preferably at the selection committee. Then the constituency can reject you in favour of somebody who WILL listen and work for the constituents.

You seem to think that because somebody is elected as an MP they are magically transformed into super intelligent people who know far more than the people who voted for them.

They don't.

Does he? That's good! I know he wants a softer Brexit and wants ratification by the electorate. Sounds like a reasonable type whatever you think of his Brexit views.

I'm not too sure about Nick Boles being reasonable, it would appear his facination for Jess Philips is marring (pun intended) his ability to respect the wishes of his constituents. Did you see his tweet where he said "he finds her irresistable and would walk over hot coals for her," most of the papers are calling him "creepy" for that tweet, at the very least he shudda gone to specsavers. And with his clandestine meetings with her and some other members of the Labour Party, maybe his loyalties have veered into loveland, his party deserves better from him.

Indeed, my apologies for not checking thoroughly.

But the fact remains that many Brexiteers are quick to brand Remain MPs representing Leave constituencies as hypocrites for not resigning, but for Brexit MPs to continue to represent Remain constituencies.
