Preah Sihanouk provincial anti-drug police on Wednesday arrested nine Chinese nationals who allegedly trafficked 100 small packages of crystal meth and 35 ecstasy pills in the province. Brigadier General Sun Sophath, provincial anti-drug trafficking department chief, yesterday identified the suspects as Jin Yoagnian, 27, De Xu, 25, Fan Chao, 27, Zhou Yang, 25, Hua Zai, 26, Chee Kiang, 23, Melvin Foo, 24, Da Ren, 28, and William Ricardo, 29.

He said the suspects were arrested after police monitored their activities for about two months. Brig Gen Sophath said they were arrested at about 3pm on Wednesday after police raided their rental houses in Sihanoukville.

“These Chinese suspects were active drug distributors who always brought drugs to sell to users in casinos, karaoke clubs or nightclubs,” he said. “We monitored their activities for two months and moved in to arrest them after locating their rental houses.” Brig Gen Sophath added that after their arrests, police seized 122 small packages of methamphetamine, 35 ecstasy pills, four drug scales, nine phones and other drug paraphernalia from them.
