I was showing her some chords on the Yamaha dreadnought that I bought locally that summer and I left it with her when it was time for me to go back to California...always wondered later on how she got on with her guitar playing... bannork
I never got over the hippie dream of peace and love. It was so powerful back then in my youth. The ensuing commercialization was inevitable, but the seed had been planted and could never go away.

Come now, bannork, don't be bashful.

LOL Sorry Tippers, I've been very busy with a large expansion of the farm, going fully organic and integrating the chickens, ducks, buffaloes, fish, vegetables, fruit trees and crops to the greatest extent possible. Hopefully it will be all sorted by next June! The seed planting ain't finished. One topic I'm still mulling over is which music most inspires chickens and ducks to lay eggs, trees to produce fruit and fish to grow fast? At least I think I've found the answer to the last category.

I was gonna come back with the Wurzels and that Combine Harvester song but that might be deemed a little childish ( even by my infantile mentality ☹️).So here’s the original and a cute little video to boot !! bannork
One of the wonderful things about growing up in the 60s and early 70s was the exposure to music on both ends of the spectrum. I mean there was the hippy, trippy, we are all together, peace and love music of The Grateful Dead, West Coast bands, plenty of Beatles tracks etc; and then there were the doomsayers, King Crimson's 21st Century Schizoid Man, depressed folks such as Neil Young, and of course The Doors where the end of the world was always near. What I mean is The Doors provided a kind of psychological insurance. If you were seriously influenced by The Doors, you are never surprised that the end is always near, whether that means the end of life or the end of life in Thailand due to the collapse of the pound due to a stupid government. Growing up and being influenced by such music is a cushion as to what life can throw at one.
