Anutin Orders Stricter Measures to Curb Burning and Reduce PM 2.5
This time of year sugar cane is harvested in LOS, burning allows efficient sugarcane harvesting. This is a big issue around the world where sugar cane is grown commercially, including the U.S. in places like Hawaii, Florida and Louisiana. Thailand is a major exporter so it can be particularly concentrated and hazardous here and SEA in general. Unfortunately burning remains the most efficient way of getting rid of the unneeded parts (the leafy trash) of the sugar cane stalk before harvesting. What I've personally been explained is that workers are paid around 400 baht per 100M row to cut burned sugar cane. They are paid 700 baht per 100M row to cut unburned sugar cane which requires removing the "trash" manually. Much more costly and the trash still needs to dealt with after. Hand harvesting allows the remaining cane stub to re-grow and harvested again up to three seasons before it requires replanting. Mechanical harvesting is very costly and crushes the stubs, still requiring the remaining "leafy trash" to be dealt with, usually by means of burning! I believe the politicians are making the statements are just words not a real solution. IMHO the answer needs to be technology which will require first we pay a much higher price for sugar. -

A lot of layers here. I realize that you enthusiastically supported Trump. Yes, Trump calls himself a Christian. He's obviously not a serious one based on his behavior. His cult accepts him as a Christian. In fact, his cult now holds him up as some kind of God King Jesus figure who is sacrificing himself to save America. The bleeding ear incident has been made into a religious myth even though there is actually no evidence that he was actually shot in the ear. Of course there is no evidence that Jesus was literally born again, so such facts are not important to religious belief systems. Trump is milking this religious myth about himself which makes his authoritarian movement even more insane and dangerous that it already was. As far as what Trump believes himself, I reckon he's not in the slightest bit religious. Posing with the Christian stuff is strictly TRANSACTIONAL like everything else in his criminally corrupt lying life. Can the USA save the world? Of course not whatever that means, but I do think a most powerful USA and west has been and would be better for the world than a most powerful axis of autocracy (Russia, China, Iran, etc.). He attended the National Cathedral in Washington D.C. at special interfaith and ecumenical service. Of course, the U.S. doesn't have a state religion so the concept of a National Cathedral is a bit weird, but practically necessary for historical events that involve presidents and such. Have you been? It's a lovely place with lovely grounds. As far as clergy staying out of politics, are you having a laugh?!? Did you see the disgusting totally partisan speech by Reverend Graham at the inauguration? A Christian clergy asking for mercy and compassion is not political really. It's voicing an authentic Christian message. -
