Hal65
I was turned down for a new account by an otherwise friendly SCB teller for this reason. She said to try other banks. I was able to get an account at Kungsri but I want an SCB account due to them being popular near my area. Is SCB regularly turning language school ED visa holders (not university ED visaholders) or is this spottily enforced?
jackdd
Every Thai branch is an own business, and so every branch has it's own rules, and the rules may also vary depending on who in the branch you ask. So nobody can tell you anything for sure ???? But why don't you just get for example the "Krungsri Debit All ATMs" debit card for 480THB for 3 years for your new Krungsri account, then you can withdraw money at any ATM in Thailand for free and don't have to care about which bank is "popular" near your area.
