RAOT calls fund for rubber producers a New Year's gift

 

 

NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, 7th December 2018 (NNT) – The Deputy Governor of the Rubber Authority of Thailand (RAOT) has urged eligible rubber farmers and tappers to claim their right to assistance funding from the government, calling it a New Year’s gift. 

RAOT Deputy Governor Sunan Nualphromsakul was speaking in Nakhon Si Thammarat on a trip to follow up on the Rubber Farmers Strengthening program, which is offering 1,800 per rai for up to 15 rai for rubber plantations struggling against the product’s falling price. The RAOT has asked all relevant agencies to work speedily to make sure the assistance funds are dispersed in the New Year period. 

The measure was recently approved by the Cabinet to prop up rubber farmers and tappers. Of the 1,800 baht per rai, 1,100 is to go farm owners and 700 is for tappers. 

Those who have staked their claim to the funds will begin receiving the assistance from December 20 onward.

Rubber farmers sided with the junta's overthrow of government with the expectation of higher rubber prices. While the junta has fallen short in some years it has provided subsidies and soft loans in other years. This New Year's gift is just a continuation of its loyalty gifts.

True.. but unlike the rice scam at least this is limited to small farmers. Still its basically the same thing gifts for loyalty. The junta is really hypocrite but i said that before and mean it.
