Hi all.I need some advice please.I have lived in Bangkok Thaiand for 10 years on a work related visa and work permit.I will retire in January age 65 and want to make a non O 1 year visa.I have a house here and an usufruct on the land for the next 22 years.I have 2 properties in uk approx.and receive approx 32k a month rent.I will receive my pension approx. 35k baht in May.I can show more than £30k in current UK bank accounts.

My question is If I return to UK Am I eligible for a 1 year NON O visa from Hull.Is there anything else I need to show..??do they need to see Chanote?House  service bills??...1year on will take me to the point where I will move 800k into a Thai bank.THis is only  a solution to my current situation where I have to find a new " fix" to stay here. I would not consider the agent route as I have too much to lose here to be illegal.

Many thanks for any replies to this.I appreciate your thoughts on this and  and taking the time to help. Regards  thefatchap

The website is pretty comprehensive.

Although it says..

Non-Immigrant SINGLE ENTRY Visas which the Hull Consulate can issue subject to London Embassy approval: (Non-Immigrant Visas with MULTIPLE ENTRIES can only be issued by Royal Thai Embassy London)

So perhaps a single entry and start the 800,000 seasoning as soon as you return to Thailand, and apply for a retirement based extension in the last month of the 3 given.

thanks Jacko but that doesn't do he job for me. I need a 1 year visa without transferring money are there other options to stay 1 year without moving the 800k until May 2020.many thanks ..

Non-immigrant O-A from London. But you will require UK police report and medical certificate. Somewhat time-consuming to collate all the bits of paper.

Good for 2 years if you go out and re-enter the day before it expires.

getting the paper is no problem.A trip to London is not pleasant or easy from where I am (is it in person only?) but doable. They will give me a 2 year Visa?or is this leave before it expires and you get another 3 months I have heard of?Many thanks Briggsy.

Can be done by post, I believe.

They give you a one-year visa. Each entry is for one year. By going out-in on the last day, you are able to obtain effectively 2 years' stay off one visa.

For the non-imm O-A, you don't need a state pension.

If you have the required money in the bank, your pensions and other income will not interest the embassy. One tip: get the required health certificate here in Thailand before going back to the UK to apply for the Non O-A visa. This is acceptable to the embassy, and much easier than getting one done in the UK.

OA long stay visa for sure is the best for you.

In the first year you can choose to have a break somewhere every 89/90 days in nearby places, you get stamped in for one year every time you return.

Close to the end of the first full visa year ie 'enter/use by date on the visa go out of Thailand and return and you get a further year. If you want to travel anywhere during that second year you need to get a re-entry permit. You can get it at the airport or local Imm' office. Single 1000 or multi 3800 baht.

If you don't want to travel you can do 90 day reports to your local Imm'

Eg

Visa 1/1/2019 to 31/12/2019.

Leave return on 28/12/2019 stamped in until 27/12/ 2020.

At this point you need the re-entry permits to keep the permit to stay alive if you travel out of Thaland and return.
