VIENTIANE, 14th December 2018, (NNT) - The Thai and Laotian Prime Ministers committed to several areas of bilateral cooperation during the third Thai-Lao Joint Cabinet Retreat (JCR) today.

According to an official statement on the Thai government website, Thai Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha and his Laotian counterpart Thongloun Sisoulith (ทองลุน สีสุลิด) made the announcement concerning resolutions that have been reached during the meeting, highlighting collaboration on security, the economy and society.

These resolutions include a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on education between the Thai Education Minister and the Laotian Minister of Education and Sports. Meanwhile, Thailand’s Director-General of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation signed an MOU with the Laotian Director-General of the Department of Environmental Quality Promotion. Furthermore, the two nations have also signed a new electricity trade deal, and a cooperative agreement on the judicial branch.

reminding the unelected Junta leader that an election is but just a few weeks away, so don't try buying votes with bloody agreements.

No need for Fearless Leader P  to buy votes since the upcoming 'election' is just a formality.  :crying:

So much political synergy between these two countries - both ruled by one-party politburos.

A ruling unelected politburo is a governance phenomena of a communist regime such as found in Vietnam, China and Laos. And now it seems in Thailand.

"To some observers, the junta appears to have borrowed a leaf from China's Communist Party with its establishment of the NSC [National Strategy Committee]. This is a new invention, a Thai-style politburo model that is trying to marry Western, parliamentary-style democracy with the Chinese politburo system," https://asia.nikkei.com/Politics/Thailand-s-military-maneuvers-to-stay-on-top
