Granted my words were harsh could of been far more polite. However look at the times of posts. The OP was about 23hrs ago. My reply was FIRST some 11 hours ago. The thread had a few views and zero replies for 11 hours. Daytime hours. It certainly got a bump

My post was the first time I had read the thread.

Why on earth would members give this a LIKE. Geezus OP you could condense this to a paragraph. Perhaps your bored to relate tale of zillion words. Challenge~ list facts in point form. Leave out io outfits and attitudes, that will save few hundred words. Just relate facts that assist members doing an extension.

(I personally, have decided to end my annual anxiety regarding this continuing problem by simply going the 800,000 Baht route for next year. I appreciate that some may not be as fortunate as myself to do the same. Over the last two weeks I have transferred 800,000 from UK to my Thai account. I knew it wouldn’t stand up to scrutiny regarding the 2 months ‘maturing’ period, but I wanted to be prepared for every eventuality).

For OP:  The 2 month 'maturing' period for the 800k route is for the initial visa only.  Extensions of stay based on retirement have a 3 month 'maturing' period requirement.  Don't get caught a month short next year!  Also, make sure your passport is valid thru the requested extension.  Glad you had a good experience.  Happy holidays.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't know that - Happy holiday to you too!

Cut the lad a bit of slack, he's just staving off boredom, there's beggar-all else to do in Chiang Mai. Actually, what he's getting all orgasmic about, is perfectly normal at Pattaya immigration.

If you are so well entertained and not bored at all wherever is that you live, one has to wonder why you waste your time reading and posting about Chiang Mai stuff.

Turning up so early that it's still dark? Bugger that!

Glad I don't live there......

I turn up at around 2 pm for all business and rarely have to wait more that 30 minutes in Phuket.

Totally agree with you why get there at 0530 absolutely stupid; as is the ongoing dribble written I fell asleep after the second paragraph. He cant even stay with the intent of the title.

You can thank Big Joke for this - he cracked the whip a few months back when reports of people queing down the road made Thai media and it has been running well ever since. Let's hope it stays that way.

Hear hear and a big thank you to the new Immigration chief, Khun Big Joke.

If what Bundooman reported is correct, then this is certainly a refreshing improvement to the dismal service retirees in CM had to put up with in recent years.

I hope this gets fed back into CM Immigration and the officers responsible get the recognition.

Hope this new approach continues.

very impressed with the new building and smartly dressed and  friendly staff.  big improvement and nice A/C, not cramped like the old building.  i think most of the expats and/tourist should dress better imho.

Just for some info which maybe help others.

Renewed my retirement visa at Khon Kaen yesterday, in and out in 1hr 10min. Letter from Kasikorn bank has went up from 100baht last year to 200. The retirement visa cost is still the same at 1900baht. The multiple entry visa is now 3800 this year.

Khon Kaen immigration will move to bus terminal 3 in January.

I'm happy for the OP he had a smooth ride. However, I have to wonder if his experience is reversion to the mean, or a statistical outlier.

Went today to CM . Arrived at 10am to transfer old pp info to new and also a 90 day report. Was completely done by 10:40. Organized , streamlined and freindly staff.  Far cry from promenada.

Wow!. Sorry it wasn't useful to you Mr. High and mighty DrJack54! If you didn't like it - why read it and bitch?

It was meant to be helpful to others - no need to act like a jerk-off. Just throw your silly tantrum somewhere else!

He made assinine comments about my report, last week.  I even spefied that unanswered questions were welcome.  Not good enough for Dr Jackoff.

So Big Joke fixed the CM problem after all these years ?

Good for you , I don't have to brag about my short visits to Chonburi immigration anymore then .

Walking out with the "visa" on the same day??

My extension of stay based on marriage has a 2 week waiting period (usually including a home visit by IO's) and on the day of application is stamped with a "come back and see us again on such and such a date"

Obviously different from a retirement extension??

Very different - but the experience seems to depend a great deal on the office.

Goodness, the amount of  herded masochist farang cattle in this country.

Thailand immigration is great, Thailand immigration is great and by the way did I tell you that despite all the fines, fee's, and hoops I have to jump through how great it is! Oh yes and one more Thailand immigration is so great.

The thing is, depending on the office and the service, it can be really easy / friendly - so some get the false-impression we all could have that experience.

Meanwhile in Chachoengsao a guy I know that has been working here for 4 years no problems went to renew his visa to work another year and they straight up told him that it's time for him to leave despite nothing changing and him doing nothing wrong.

Let me translate that Immigration-speak for you:
"Send the company lawyer here with a fat envelope and we can get this all sorted out."

???? Bwahaha! Nice example of a failed redirection.

This thread would have been just fine without you. No need to pat yourself on the back for getting publically SPANKED!

I do hope this is the new trend, public floggings for negative creepers here on TV.

It would be a great way to clean it up a bit here and show folks their negativity is most unwelcome, separate the wheat from the chaff...

Even when they fail to grasp the concept, it's still fun to watch ????

Instant karma in action ????
