WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump told his Turkish counterpart Tayyip Erdogan that Washington "would take a look at" the possibility of extraditing a U.S.-based Muslim cleric who Ankara suspects of being behind a 2016 coup attempt, but he made no commitment, the White House said on Tuesday.

Too much speed! Lampang drug smugglers crash cargo of 4 million meth pills

A high-speed chase on Lampang roads ended with screeching tyres and the crunch of metal on Tuesday when drug-runners crashed their pickup before abandoning the vehicle and escaping on foot. They left behind a huge cargo of several million methamphetamine pills.

Number of tourists visiting Phuket still high – TAT Phuket

In response to a number of completely fabricated negative stories about Phuket’s current tourism situation, Kanokkittika Kritwuttikorn, the director of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Phuket Office says, “Number of tourists visiting Phuket is still good when compared to last year’s numbers. We’ve also spoken to many regional tour operators who say that bookings are ‘solid’ for this time of the year.”

PHUKET: The Acting Chief of the Phuket Marine Office, Wiwat Chitchertwong, was silent yesterday (Dec 18) on questions about marine officials being prosecuted for dereliction of duty for allowing the tour boat Phoenix to put to sea, in the wake of the investigation into the Phoenix sinking on July 5, killing 67 Chinese tourists.
