My post 78 was about buying a book to educate myself about the poor migrant workers.

your post followed...

One thing is for certain, I would not want to be Burmese in Thailand........ guess thats why I feel so much for their plight and I know from personal experience how badly they are treated here and my friends are not businessmen but the very workers we purport to care about here. I still say and believe in the notion tha we should all reach out and make a difference in any way we can. So much talk and talk is cheap. So many opinions and yet there will be no difference.

"Pornography relieves sexual tension, but books about cooking do not feed the poor."

All these empty words on this forum all add up to a great deal of nothing I'm afraid but I will continue to do what I do and hope that others will join the cause and not just hijack the march

Oh dear, what tangled webs that you weave

You quote the end of a quotation and then part of the first sentence from the following paragraph to justify your remarks about me and then take it completely out of context and misconstrue it all by yourself........... that really is clutching at straws

As I have clearly stated, I have paid no particular attention to your posts and it seems you have only read what you wanted to read in mine and then a little cut from here and lets paste that there and I guess I am guilty of whatever you say..............

You are wrong and you know you are. Apology is still in order

JAF

PS Just noticed your post about some 140 bht book.........jeeez, you really are wired a little to think I would come looking to bait you about something so mediocre. Good on you for getting a book about life as it was, as it is and as it will be for time to come.

Why would you use a quote, which uses specific words and ideas (reading a book to educate myself and thus be in a position to know about and help others) that are the same as my previous post (the first point of introduction), directly after my post, 78, 79 80.

Read the threads, either from start to end, or from 78 to 80. What do you see? Exactly what I have stated.

You now say that you hardly read or noticed my posts, and the wordings, order, general discussions and specific contexts are all just coincidence, and you weren't making reference to me at all. - I find that tough to believe.

Jeeeeeeeeeeeeez

I told you once, told you twice, telling you a third time. I paid no particular attention to your postings and you have just made a blind assumption on the ridiculous notion that you can cut and paste bits and pieces from part of a quote and part of another sentence from another paragraph

I find it hard to believe that you are so vain and arrogant and so stubborn. My posting had NOTHING whatsoever to so with you...........get over it

I notice Bkkandrew never returned.

Prat.

If you actually read the forums, you would have noticed:

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?ac...amp;pid=1155040

Some of us work. For me that means airplanes (with accompanying incommunicado) and, unlike some, TV is not the epicentre of my life...

Ever hear the phrase "get a life?"

No, sorry it is not humourous nor ironic, it was tasteless but you wouldnt want to admit that would you, you being so much better than the person you where slandering.....

And I did not say BUT I do all of the things I mentioned above.........help a Burmese family, pay some bills, offer food on a regular basis, go teach voluntarily at a Burmese school, be there when they need someone to help them out......

sorry, what was it that you do for burmese people again ??

Maybe your talk is like your humour, failing to reach those who would appreciate it

JAF

You hypercritical buffoon.

You espouse helping Burmese families and give suggestions how to do so, then admit you don't actually follow your own advice!

Yet, I am in business with a Burmese man, with dependant wife, children etc. etc. Business that generates income that does all the things you talk about BUT DO NOT ACTUALLY DO!!

And then, to somehow show your utter inability to understand irony, you state that it would be good to :"help a Burmese family, pay some bills, offer food on a regular basis, go teach voluntarily at a Burmese school, be there when they need someone to help them out......" and before" talk is cheap and actions speak louder than words."

Yes, indeed you are correct that my homour or irony will always fail to reach you, as you are clearly on another planet. One, I would add, that I, nor, I suspect, anyone else would care to visit!

I wish we had a muppet emoticon... :o

You really are a blind fool. I have already posted to say that the things I suggested are things I actually do.........It would be arrogant of me to suggest to others to do something that i would not do myself. I thought that much was obvious by now but sadly you fingers engage the keyboard quicker than your brain receives the input from your retinas or maybe you just dont register or accept other people opinions unless they are familiar with your own. I get the feeling that you are generally a "mouthy" person hence the phrase "actions speak louder than words"

Guess the irony was lost on you.

JAF

PS And if this is the paragraph that you are trying to implicate me with, then read it again carefully and pay very close attention to the sixth word in........"BUT" I think you will quickly realise you jumped straight in and made a right fool of yourself. Maybe you should think twice before you engage your foot into your stupid mouth

"And I did not say BUT I do all of the things I mentioned above.........help a Burmese family, pay some bills, offer food on a regular basis, go teach voluntarily at a Burmese school, be there when they need someone to help them out......

You are more than welcome to quote any of my postings to support your absurd subterfuge where I admit. encourage or condone anything that you are accusing me of. Of course, if you cannot support this absurd notion, then I think an apology is in order or are you too big a man to climb down off that little pony you are riding ?

As for being in business with a burmese man, isnt that very much a case of I scratch your back and you scratch mine. Do you really think that you are helping those who need help the most with such a pathetic argument. Helping people has nothing to do with business and I fail to see how you think you are making any difference to those unfortunate immigrants.......... Seems like you are just helping yourself, nothing charitable. Actions speak louder than words.........yet again

JAF - No reason to be humble when someone humbles themselves

What a paranoid ranting missive....

I really cannot be bothered to respond to your attempts at self justification. I am happy with my intellect, position in life and general karma. You, clearly, are on the early stages of the learning curve and may attain same at some point in the future, but on current analysis it is doubtful. Given your insults, I am not inclined to assist your learning.

A classic example of your shortcomings brings me nicely back on topic, in that you stated "As for being in business with a burmese man, isnt that very much a case of I scratch your back and you scratch mine". Now then, you know nothing of my business, not that of K. Ko Chit, so you invoke the time honoured accusation of only a fool commenting on matters that he has no knowledge of...

For the record, K. Ko Chit pays me a retainer for services I provide for him (translation, sales etc.)

By way of contrast, I guess you provide the service of being the village idiot!

By way of contrast I own my own business with an income of over 100,000 bht per month. I employ 5 burmese people full time and I help countless others, both thai and burmese.. Not bad for a village idiot. I wont bother addressing your other wild accusations about paranoia because, well in short, your opinion means absolutely nothing to me. Any fool is brave when he is out of range but the tangent you follow seems to lead to Uranus

But back to the point which you have NOT addressed. You got it totally wrong by thinking I only pontificate about what we can do to help those less fortunate and yet still no apology for your lack of comprehension when accusing me of not doing what I suggested others should do. That is so funny coming from someone who translates for a business...........you cant even comprehend the Queens English so I doubt I or any of my Burmese friends will ever require your inadequate serices.

In short you are a conceited buffoon. The idea that I can learn anything from you is ridiculous and the sad fact that you post on this forum is the reason why idiots should not be allowed to buy keyboards.

Now go back to your hole, troll

Umm, you are both doing yourselves a disservice . . . please just drop it.

No I am sorry, I am not doing myself a disservice, BKKAndrew and the other lemming who insulted me are. All they had to do was simple, apologise for their misconception about my posts. I even pointed out clearly what they misconceived but they ignore those facts and continue to berate me and other posters.

Have you read BKKAndrews posts to other people. He is arrogant, derogatory, insulting and conceited. He even reprimands one poster with these words

Quote

The key is in your own post:

comprehension

noun

the ability to understand completely and be aware of a situation, facts, etc:

end quote

Thats really apt............shame he cant take a spoon full of his own advice in this case

As for his boasting in another posting about "shagging a 16 yo girl" I think that tells you what type of farang he is. JAS (just another scumbag). I have no respect for his sort, none whatsoever

What translations do you do Andrew?

Replied by PM as this thread went way off topic as it was...

Let us hope that all we read in newspapers is not the reality on the ground!

Sadly, it may be a case of 'no smoke without fire' as far as the Burmese migrant construction workers are concerned.

Perhaps a more robust diplomatic approach towards the military junta in Burma by members of ASEAN with a particular emphasis on their continued persecution of the many ethnic minority groups within the country should be pursued. As another poster said elsewhere on this thread, the 'grass' really is 'greener' for Burmese workers who manage to make it to Thailand.

Not commenting the ongoing discussion, but if there are others who wanted to read more of the laws, conditions etc.... found easily from the net this :

Thai Labour Campaign is a non-profit, non-governmental organization committed to promoting workers' rights in Thailand and increasing awareness of labour issues globally. TLC was started in February of 2000 and is headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand.

Migrant workers or slaves?

Wednesday, 25 July 2007

snip

Caram Asia is deeply vexed with recent announcements made by the Malaysian government and Thai provincial governments proposing measures to limit movement of foreign workers within the compound of their employers. For these foreign workers who toil at jobs that locals usually opt out of, they would not only be working long hours in the same area but would also be eating, sleeping and spending every other waking hour near their work stations.

The latest announcement in April comes from the governor of Chiang Mai who said the rule is aimed at maintaining peace and order in the province. The rule will ban foreign workers from riding motorcycles or leaving their designated working areas or their employers’ homes after 8 pm. More than five foreign workers are also not allowed to congregate at one place. He expects the draft to be enforced soon.

They really are tossers when it comes to putting the boot into foreigners. :o

When this kind of thing existed in South Africa, it was called Apartheid, was roundly condemned worldwide, South Africa was boycotted, pop songs were written et al. But this is Thailand...

I feel it unfair to tar "The Thais" [a country of what, 62 million?] with the same brush. I am quite convinced there are many decent Thai citizens who would condemn these disgusting conditions in their home country and indeed anywhere else in the world.

Well, where are the protests by 'decent Thais' against the authorities in CM and Phuket? Where are the letters of complaint? Where are the debates on television? These are all signs in a civilised country that there is dissent against such policies. Yet in Thailand, there are no such signs...

You make a fair enough point there, but keep in mind the country is still in the hands of the Military who are not used to debate or being asked unpleasant questions.

THAILAND AND MALAYSIA GUILTY OF CONTRAVENING THE HUMAN RIGHTS OF MIGRANT WORKERS

Updated: [July 26, 2007 ] :: 18:27:01

The current policy towards foreign migrant workers as practised by Thailand and Malaysia comes dangerously near contravening Article 13 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which states that freedom of movement of the individual is a basic human right.
