Hi All,

I found this forum to be very useful and recent as well. I am holding an Indian passport and will be travelling to Thaniland with visa on arrival for 15 days, but I need to stay in thailand for about 25 day. I dont have time to apply for a visa as it takes 21 business day to get a tourist visa for 30 days in thail embassey. I have tarvelling profile so cant submit the passport for such long time.

My question - What is the best possible solution for me to do it. I read about visa run but doesnt seem to be applicable for Indian passport holder. Can I leave Thailand before 15 days expires and enter same day to get another 15 days visa on arrival?

Need your expert advice.

Thanks,

Neil

Not sure where you read or heard it would take 21 days to get a tourist visa that allows a 60 day entry. Info here indicates 4 to 5 days depending upon where you apply. http://www.vfs-thailand.co.in/

Unless you have a flight out of the country within 15 days your application for a visa on arrival could be denied.

It should be possible to leave and re-enter the country and obtain another 15 day visa on arrival. It can be done at a few border crossing and at all airports.

Sorry I forgot to mention, I am in Australia living as a permanent resident. Officially Thai consulate takes 21 days to grant a tourist visa for an indian passport holder.

So based upon your comment above, it should be fine to fly out on say 'Saturday' and return on Sunday and get another 15 days visa on arrival, hope there would be no issue?

If you have a current job in Australia, or wife there, bring proof of that - showing you have a reason to return there.  Also, proof of why you need those extra days in Thailand / your travel plans and hotel-booking(s) / itinerary.  Also exiting air-ticket within 15 days of your arrival (both times) and 20K Baht in cash or more to show, if asked.

Then, hope for the best - that the IO you deal with will respect your documented-reasons for a quick return for your 2nd VOA.

Thanks, I wouldnt return to Australia but will make a visit to India to meet relatives on weekend and come next day. Only thing is if there is any documented rule from thai government not to allow another visa on arrival within a specified number of days.

There is no rule stating it cannot be done.
