madmitch
Can someone please explain the point of those tents they set up during these so-called dangerous days? I drove home (sober) last night at around 12:30. Kata Hills were full of helmetless motorbike riders, some of whom were obviously drunk. Surely the best time to nab drunk drivers/riders is after midnight on January 1st. And the tent just before the hills going towards Chalong? Lights out, no one there at all. This morning on the way back, one man in a polo shirt smoking a cigarette. Waste of space!
Bob12345
I think the idea of the tents is to create traffic jams so average speeds go down and accidents become less fatal.

Classic Ray
It’s just a face thing, to appear to be doing something in case of national or international criticism, without either having to make any effort or spend any money. So many campaigns and crackdowns here are based on the same principles. But I am sure the police grant themselves plenty of overtime budget to sit in the tents and play with their phones.
