Do I need to leave Thailand to use the online reporting?

You need to get a new entry using your new passport. The database the online reporting checks is from your last entry to the country. You record would not found using your new passport number.

UPDATE: Did my 2nd 90 day reporting at this office. Monday morning drop off and Friday afternoon pickup. SO EASY, so cheap...

*The English spoken here is really poor. Make sure you have google translate on your smartphone or better yet a Thai with you if you have questions. (I was alone, and I don't ask a lot of questions, it only complicates things.)

**If she looks at you funny, just say "it ok, just do it, 90 day reporting, mi me pen ha." Repeat it if needed...as many times as needed.

Can anyone give a reason what instigated it. Please not the usual Thai Bash ones, just why we do it. Ive asked friendly Officers On n Off for years without even them not understanding whats gained. Im up to 27 years of stupid bits of paper going in the shredder. At one time there must have been a valid reason.

Bureaucratic version of a GPS tag. So what do you prefer?

Which demonstrate the total lack of integration of their system. Even the dumbest of my interns would have seen the benefit of updating the 90 days DB when transferring visas, or extensions of stay to a new passport.

250 baht is a steal if you can't use the online system (new passport for example), or are too late for the mail-in system. When doing a 90-day report in person I've seen runners, some with a stack of 30+ passports, or a motorbike taxi driver with one passport.

5,000 baht for a multiple re-entry permit is close to palatable, only 1,200 extra but figure it saves ~ 5 hours and 500 baht in taxi fare.

2,500 baht to transfer a stamp, presumably from an old passport to a new passport, seems a bit pricey though?

8,500 for an ext stay/ret is in my target range.

Assume some will start offering a TM30 service?

Thanks.

I'd guess they now insist on a TM30 receipt before agreeing this price.

"They" being the AI VISAVIS CONSULTING outfit in the OP?

Is so, do they offer any TM30 filing services?

Was this an issue for you CaptainChris? (Your most recent report may have been before the TM30 crackdown.)

Yes, the OP did this in March and crackdown at CW began late April, hence I'd be surprised if the agent's current service remains the same.
