Of course they aren't. But they and climatologists use scientific methods unlike your rectal extraction system.

Oh, you mean politicians gain favor by telling the public they must consume less, re-use more, carry canvas bags, etc?

No, that's why savvy politicians have learned to avoid the topic of action on climate change, knowing it is electoral suicide.

One of the fastest backtrackers was former Australian PM Kevin Rudd, who stated grandiosely in April 2008: "The greatest moral and economic challenge we will face in the 21st century is climate change" and promised an Emissions Trading Scheme (ie a carbon tax) to take effect as quickly as possible.

Not much more than a year later, seeing the voter backlash, he cancelled the ETS. Australian voters, well versed in spotting humbug and hypocrisy, dumped him anyway at the next election.

Even that prize idiot Justin Trudeau, Canada's social justice-obsessed PM, has abandoned doing anything on climate change except moral posturing, leading one prominent environmentalist to describe him as "a stunning hypocrite" on climate.

More evil people seeking to do harm on harmless people. I hate that mak mak. I seem to come across that More and More.
