A retired traffic policeman jumped from a pedestrian bridge to his death in Nonthaburi's Muang district early on Thursday.

Police said Pol Sub-Lt Paithoon Luang-aram, 66, a retired traffic policeman of the Bangkok Metropolitan Police Bureau, jumped from the pedestrian bridge in front of a restaurant on Ratchapruek Road in Tambon Bang Rak Noi.

Paithoon died at the scene from head injuries.

Witnesses told police that Paithoon was drinking at a restaurant with a girlfriend and the two left separately. Paithoon was seen calling several taxis but he did not get in. He eventually walked up the bridge and jumped over.

I would imagine a lot of "ex" and present traffic cops end up mentally sick and unable to cope, stood out in the heat listening to ridiculously noisy vehicles all day, breathing in the pollution would do anybodies head in :shock1:

Yet they are the ones who have the "power" to stop all the "noise & pollution" they can be are incredibly stupid! ????

Then not being able to get a taxi who will use his meter would be the icing on the cake ????
