mouse Posted May 24, 2004 Share Posted May 24, 2004 I have a chance to buy a 2nd home (1 year old, 2 bedroom) very close to our house for 700,000 Baht. Of course the paper status etc would have to be checked out etc. But my question is: How do I get a loan for such a second house. I have a modest Military Retirement of over the Visa requirements minimum but no money saved. The other problem is that the papers for the land are just now being converted from National Park status to private land status. Our family home is going through the same process at this time. Therefore a Thai Bank loan is out until that status clears. Once the conversion is final (within 4 months) the owner will just mortgage the land and not want to sell it anymore. I am keen on the idea, for it would be an excellent place to turn into a small rental property or guesthouse that my wife could run, until one of the kids is old enough to live in the house. I also think that they need the money and I can get the price reduced to 600,000 Baht Cash. Any suggestions on how to hook this deal without any money in my pocket?
