WHAT EXACTLY do I dial from my mobile here in BKK ? I have tried many permutations but keep being told that I have the wrong number.

009 to give you cheaper international call access

44 to give you the UK

0127 is the UK area code, drop the 0 from overseas

4394611 is their number

0870 - the other number - might not be accessable from Thailand or over the 009 network

It was right to say the number you dialled was incorrect. You either have to tell it to dial a mobile or non international number ie 081111111 or international ie 00 or

+ (depending on your phone, I press and hold the 0 ) then either 1, 8 or 9 to choose your preffered international carrier (9 = 7 baht a minute ) country code, which for the UK is 44 then drop the 0 as in 0207 for London is now207.Hope this cleared it all up for you, Dunc

Another thing! with the Nationwide they have a non 0870 number for calling from abroad. Might be worth checking on the website to see if natwest have the same, Cheers Dunc

Do I dial 009441274394611 or what ? I tried 007441274394611 earlier and just got the Thai recorded message of wrong nmber....I think !

Cant Beleive that people are still using The Nat West, just be careful you never have your credit cards stolen, the consequences with Natwest are dire to say the least, especially if it happens when you are overseas!! Nignoy

no for sure, had my wallet stolen , credit cards were cancelled within 2 hours of theft being reported, nat west still held me responsible for 4.200pounds . which were put on this card in 5weeks after the cards were cancelled and I was the other side of the World, I took natwest to court and won , they waited until I had enough funds in my account to cover the amount they had lost, they withdrew the funds and closed all my accounts, I tried for years to get the money back but every time we got a court appointment ,they got an ajournment or postponement or appealed the judges decision, after 6 yearsof this I had had my first heart attack, so we gave it up as a bad job, So you could say I have first hand bad experience with Natwest Nignoy

johnfb - you dial 009 44 127 4394611 - if it still says it is a wrong number then it is a wrong number, unless it is just a fault on the system so try again later!

For others, don't forget the web site www.saynoto0870.co.uk that has alternatives to 0870 and 0845 numbers that can always be dialed from Thailand. Often they are freephone (0800 or 0808) numbers that can be dial using skype for free even if you have no credit.

You probably wont be able to get 0800 or 0870 numbers from overseas.

You should never have given them the chance to withdraw latent funds. Why didn't you just bank with someone decent like Barclays and leave 2 pence for the Natwest dogs?

Natwest closed my account after I legitimately complained their clocks were running fast 3 minutes which inconvenienced customers entering just before closing as they locked their doors early. Said I was a 'security risk' being on the premises after closing time. Went all the way to the managing director in Scotland but he just ignored the clocks issue and backed his staff. What a bunch of children!
