Car broke down.

Update on this. 

 

It's all quiet on the Western Front.

 

We've decided to just leave it there, and have bought another car.

 

If nothing happens in the next few months, I'll post the car and dealership into, any poster in Bangkok can have it.

 

We've paid 30,000 repair fees out of a quoted 60,000. Plus there's this new gear problem that happened after they repaired it.

I always get my car fixed by the dodgy looking garage at the end of the road filled with junk looking cars.

It's usually around 2,000bht.

Battery stopped working last week, new battery (GS 85Amp) at the roadside battery shop 2,200bht, they said alternator isn't charging. Round to Mr dodgy says 'dai chart' (alternator) is broken, so fix the alternator (new rectifier and bearings), replace a leaking brake hose they noticed ........ 1,700bht and fixed in 24hrs. 

 

Sounds like they scammed you Mr. Grumpy, I never use official dealers for that very reason, it was the same in the UK.
