A Russian man had to be restrained, resuscitated and then taken to hospital after going on a rampage at a hotel in Pattaya.

Myiob Chmutov, 34, (named transliterated) smashed a glass door and caused extensive damage to his room at the Pattaya Garden Hotel just before 1am on Wednesday.

After being restrained by hotel staff who prevented him from jumping from the balcony of his room, the Russian man then had some kind of seizure and collapsed, witnesses said.

Rescue workers gave him first aid and he was rushed to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital.

The floor of the man’s room was covered in broken glass and there was blood stains on the wall.

A security guard at the hotel said the Russian man had gone crazy, smashing a glass door in his room before trying to jump from the balcony. He then collapsed and had to be resuscitated by medics.

The guard added that because the man weighed about 180kg, it took 10 people to carry him to the ambulance waiting outside.

Footage of the man being tended to be by medics was shared on the Ruk Siam News Facebook page.

Staff prevented him from jumping why?

Should have let him get on with it, would have been 1 idiot less in the world.

this man never weighed 180 Kg...

what is it with the reporting ??

A probability of Drugs??? Surely not. Idiot.

Pattaya...the hub of lost souls. A farang friend of mine was a police liaison officer for years in Pattaya. He said farang bodies were pulled out of rooms almost daily. There must be hundreds of these single men all over LOS just waiting for the end. .

Even issan girls are turning their back on bar towns. The money has dried up.

Always wanted to be a rock star like Joe Walsh....

You've got it wrong, listen to TAT, Pattaya is the world class hub of tourist families, that's why the Isaan girls are moving on.

About time we had a good read about wild Russians in Pattaya.....they've been quiet these past few weeks.

They all look Russians to me on that pic.

What is the first responder in the striped shirt doing? First some random heart compressions, then suddenly stops and starts to drag the patients arms? Hmmm, is he alive or dead...? A great CPR instruction video????

Its very easy to jump to conclusions..

..this Russian guy may have a mental health issue and/or have been spiked with drugs or both and may genuinely need help.

About 15 years ago, Thais including the "rescue foundations" would do little if any first aid. That often consisted of smelling salts and gently slapping the patient's cheek.

Then, somehow, maybe from tv, they discovered CPR, or more precisely, chest compressions. They also discovered that CPR, or more precisely, chest compressions, when viewed on tv looks heroic. So they become a hero. And the fashion grew and grew.

Now, they all do it as much as they can, particularly in front of onlookers and cameras. It has become obligatory. Broken leg, CPR, or more precisely, chest compressions. Stroke, chest compressions. Drunk, chest compressions. Fainted, chest compressions. Note they don't do mouth-to-mouth as that is yucky and doesn't look heroic.

Why not use a trolley ? Instead of carrying him?

If we do I hope we're not next to each other in hospital, don't want to listen to him moaning all day and night!

You can go visit him at the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, give him a shoulder to cry on, a bit of therapy, and maybe pay his hospital bill... Just saying

That's a little extreme..

..Im thinking more of giving every guy a fair and decent chance instead of being judge, jury and executioner from an arm chair and without knowing the full story.

The first aid looked a little concerning is it a new method of tickling the life back into him ????

Please guys don’t knock the rescue team , in a fabulous first world situation you would have highly trained paramedics, ambulances stuffed with the latest equipment- paid for the Government.

Pattaya depends on the Sawan Boriboon foundation- paid for by businesses, individuals and fundraising. These days more professional and not staffed purely by volunteers.

I have been to the Chinese temple in Naklua a few times with Thai friends to like to make merit and donate- they especially go because the foundation will provide decent cremation services to some of the poorest citizens .

Considering the the constant carnage on the roads - I have nothing but total admiration for the guys- especially the volunteers  who on occasion must have to deal with some horrendous situations .

You may need these guys one day- but let’s hope you never have to.
